FONTBURN RESERVOIR IS ONE OF OUR SMALLER WATERS AND CONSEQUENTLY HAS A REPUTATION AS BEING A FRIENDLY, FAMILY ORIENTATED FISHERY.

It is located within easy reach of Tyneside and offers top class fishing for fly and bait anglers alike. In addition for the coarse angler Fontburn holds good stocks of pristine roach. Many of Fontburn’s trout are stocked from our own on site fish farm and you can now loose feed and ground bait.

Fontburn is suitable for disabled anglers with a disabled platform on the north shore.

Best locations to fish include the dam wall, north shore and south shore neat the visitor centre. For those who like to wander, the lightly fished middle and western end of the north and south shore can provide some excellent sport when the trout are well spread.

On site we have an excellent lodge shop stocked with everything you need for a days fishing including rods, reels, tackle, accessories, clothing, worms, bait, ice creams and refreshments including hot and cold drinks.

For non-anglers, there is a stunning circular walk and a spacious picnicking area for you to relax at. There is also a play park for kids to enjoy which includes swings, a slide, a zip swing and climbing frame.
